A Trip to Brussels

A few weekends ago, I decided to take a trip down to Brussels as it is relative close to Delft in the Netherlands. During this time of the year the Christmas markets open up to start the festive cheer. These first few pictures are by the Grand Palace. A few other pictures of the Christmas markets as well as a near by park i will posting at a later time. Enjoy the photos and let me know what you think!

Scheveningen Beach: Part I

Things have been crazy busy lately, working full time, playing floor hockey, and recently signing up for a film making class at the culture center at TU Delft. There is just never enough time in a day or let alone a whole week. Anyways here are some pictures i have taken at Scheveningen Beach in the Netherlands a few weeks back and finally have some time to post a few of them up. Enjoy the pics!

Candles

Seeing that i had a few candles lying around the house and some other random things my girlfriend Elise left here, i thought i give a try at some random photography with candles. As i spent several months in Japan and Elise came to visit, some of the Japanese items we invested in made for some nice decorations for the photos. To see more about the travels in Japan, Elise has written several posts on her blog http://mooij.blogspot.nl/. Using a fixed 50mm lens i tried to change the focus to add more creative effects. Let me know what you think!

Den Haag Night Sky

About a month ago I moved to a new apartment in Den Haag and was blessed with a very nice view overlooking the surrounding area. One evening after work the sky was lit up quite beautifully and the city lights were on. Hence I thought I would give a try at some twilight photography. Here are some of the resulting photos. Let me know what you think!

The Giants of Kinderdijk

It was quite some time ago when i last visited a famous area in the Netherlands called Kinderdijk. The area is very beautiful and well known for the old dutch wind mills that were used  at the time to pump water out of the lower lying areas of the region. Because of its beauty I have visited the area on several occasions. Perhaps the last visit was the most spectacular as i went with a few friends and we found a boat to go up and down the canals with. It turns out we ended up trespassing and made one dutch person very angry. Anyways here are some photos from the trips i have made.

A Simple Life in Delft

Before i have recently got a job and had some actual free time to spare, i spent the day wandering around the little town of Delft in the Netherlands. Its a fairly quaint and historic town with a great deal of sights to see. Here are some pictures of my day of excursion.
